The melted male/female vocals of I, Crime create a new brand of “romantic rock” that could only come from the rust belt paradise of Detroit, Michigan. Through thoughtful lyrics and melodic songwriting, I, Crime maintains a rock edge reminiscent of late 70’s L.A. Punk influences Wire and X, while sweet boy/girl harmonies earn comparisons to the smooth psychedelia of The Raveonettes.
Following their 2006 EP release, Get The Knife, I, Crime is now touring in support of their new 7″ single, Dove Skin Gloves, recorded by Grammy nominated Collin Dupuis. Released on Woodbridge Records, the pair of songs are winding, burning ballads, with fuzzy but fierce guitars, steady rhythms and bittersweet vocals that detail the thin line between love and hate, devotion and indifference.
“They’re fuzzy enough to get next to, but then you realize that that fuzz might be fiberglass insulation. Either way, they’ll help you compulsively scratch the itch with the boy-girl harmonies, bittersweet stories and a hang-loose rock swing that are part-bubblegum, part L.A.-punk circa 1977.” — Detroit Metro Times
